I (Ms. Krooss) was fortunate enough to get asked by the district to co-lead a teacher training session on January 5th (while all the kids are enjoying a final day of break!) on creating and managing effective, independent literacy work. Ms. Gomez and I both work hard to create strong, confident, and independent readers who LOVE to read. While we pull small reading groups or work with individual students, the rest of the class is hard at work on various tasks including Read to Self, Read to Others, Listen to Reading, and Work on Writing.
As part of my presentation, I have been busy documenting what we do in Room 3, and I created a short video. Though the video was made for other teachers, I thought fourth grade students and families might also want to take a look!
