Our Policy
Ms. Krooss and Ms. Gomez both believe in providing an engaging and rigorous school day for all students. We expect students to come to school well- rested and prepared for the day. Equally important, we encourage students to challenge themselves at home and see families as partners in education. We also base our practices on recent research showing that excessive homework takes away from a child's education.
Because of our shared view on homework, we assign a small amount of homework when extended practice benefits children. All fourth graders are expected to read at least 30 minutes a night and take frequent Accelerated Reader comprehension quizzes at school. As the year progresses, students will also receive daily multiplication practice to aid in their fact fluency. Children fill out their homework planners every day, and additional assignments will be noted.

Ways To Help At Home
We believe that time spent at home should support our students' learning. Please contact Ms. Krooss or Ms. Gomez if you would ever like additional work for your child. Students should always have books in their backpacks and are encouraged to use the classroom, school and public library.
